美国密苏里南州立大学代表团一行7人于2004年9月2日来我院访问。代表团中有该大学校长Julio S León 先生和夫人、董事会主席Dwight Douglas先生、董事会副主席Douglas Brooks 博士和夫人、学校留学生部主任Chad Stebbins 博士、学校媒体学系主任Jay R Moorman 博士。他们在王荣昌院长、刘洪老院长和周树玲副院长的陪同下参观了我院两个校园，并和遇到的学生们进行了友好而随意的交谈。随后，两校领导就合作事宜进行了非常有成效的探讨，在互换学生、互换教师、我院学生到美国密苏里南州立大学上专升本、为我院学生提供奖学金、将该院的远程教育引进我院等问题达成了初步的意向。
　　该大学校长Julio S León 先生和其他来访者对我院学生的英语水平和热情而大方的谈吐给予很高的评价，他们认为我院的外语教学水平高，学生的素质高，也反映出我国在改革开放之后青年人积极向上和开放的精神，这一切给他们留下了深刻的印象。国际商务专业也是他们学校的大专业，密苏里州政府也在最近提出要加强与世界其他国家在经济方面的联系，所以他们希望在这个专业等多方面与我院合作。

A delegation with seven guests from Missouri Southern State University visited our college on Sep. 2nd 2004. The delegation consisted of University President Julio Leon and his wife, Mrs. Vivian Leon; the Chairman of the Board of Governors, Mr. Dwight Douglas; the Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors, Mr. Douglas Brooks and his wife, Mrs. Linda Brooks; the Director of the Institute of International Studies, Mr. Chad Stebbins; and the Head of the Department of Communication, Mr. J. R. Moorman. The guests visited our two campuses accompanied by College President, Mr. Wang Rongchang; the former President, Mr. Liuhong; and Vice- President, Mrs. Zhou Shuling of our college. During the visit, the guests talked with the students freely. The leaders of both colleges explored the potential for both students and faculties exchange programs and allowing our students to enroll in Missouri Southern State University for further study. Missouri Southern State University would provide our students in their University with scholarship, and introducing their on-line teaching system to our college.
President Julio S Leon and the other visitors gave a high remark on our college students English level and enthusiastic talk, they thought that our college’s foreign language teaching level was very high, and they praised the students in their English study. It signifies the upward spirit of China youth after open reform to the world. All these left them with a deep impression. The International Commerce major is also their university’s main major. Missouri State Government put forward to strengthen the cooperation with other countries in the economic field, so Missouri Southern State University hopes to cooperate strongly in this major and other field.
